Today is Thursday

Oh hello.

Should I be doing something productive like researching for a paper? Am I instead blogging? Yep.

Thursdays roll around and my motivation and stamina are pretty low. So, I take breaks by blogging. Interesting considering I have been reading all sorts of essays about how the internet is changing the way we think and hindering our ability to concentrate on one thing for long periods of time without becoming distracted. I agree to an extent, though one thing I loved was an article called Mind Over Mass Media by Steven Pinker in the New York Times, his rebuttal to all the media haters was very refreshing,

"Yes, the constant arrival of information packets can be distracting or addictive, especially to people with attention deficit disorder. But distraction is not a new phenomenon. The solution is not to bemoan technology but to develop strategies of self-control, as we do with every other temptation in life."

Simple. Effective.

Anyway.

Some pictures from the long weekend/the weekend before. Scott and I were downtown walking and eating and we ran into a man playing a bag pipe at Astor Place and other men who were dancing(?) or walking around and posing, it was thrilling.

Off work on Monday?
Force friends to come out into the cold with their babies to hang out?
Yep. That happened.

What cute babies! And you are a total rockstar for going to school and working pretty sure my motivation would be low all the time! Also do you guys live in the NYC North Mission? I am pretty sure it covers most of Manhattan any-who my little brother just got called there! So keep your eyes peeled for a Elder Potter :)
