A few weeks ago on a particularly nice Saturday, Scott and I went to look at scooters. We narrowed it down to two and I thought, "Are we crazy? Probably." We pro and con-ed it and two weeks ago we made a deposit on a matte black Vespa. Scott picked it up in Brooklyn on Tuesday and he has never been so happy in the city. Scott not riding the subway every day makes us have a happier home. We took it all over the place on Saturday and it was awesome, not having to deal with the weekend subway issues and being out in the open air, oh boy, it is good for the city living soul. Not to mention the fact that you get places nice and fast. SoHo to the Upper East Side in 20 mins? Deal.
We shall be urban dwellers for a long time yet, I think.

Our first stop on Saturday was the Doughnut Plant in Chelsea, where they have AHHmazing hot chocolate.
Then to the flea market
Then to a very crowded Highline
FREEDOM

Yes! My first thought when I saw your instagramme'd donut was, "OH! But the trip to get there is SOOO miserable!" So happy for you + your purchase. She's pretty!
I've always dreamed of having a scooter in the city. Now that I know it is every bit as amazing as I always hoped, I am sorely tempted to go ahead and get one. But where do you park it?
You park it anywhere you darn well please! And didn't Can tell Scott it would change his life? We love(d) ours. I say loved because Can got a new one that has a clutch and I have yet to learn to drive it. I hope to be back to cruising once it's nice out. SOO happy for you guys! Oh and please enjoy it, because once you have kids it'll cost ya $10/hr to go anywhere on it together ;)
oh and you must name it. Ours was named Vespa-ho. Since our new scooter is a Stella we just call her stella for short ;)
if i could get to the doughnut plant, the garage, and high line all in one afternoon, i would buy a scooter too!!! ah-mazing!!!
best.thing.ever.
can't wait for our first scooter date
Welcome to freedom. Having a two-wheeled vehicle in the city really is the most liberating thing.
Once we get our motorcycle out of storage, we need to go on an outing together.
Love the scarves and the new ride! You are city folk, officially. So glad about that!
ohhh, wish I had one too! Very happy for you two, I'll be over here drooling...
